About Assayer

Assayer is a catalogue of drug discovery software, sorted by where each tool sits in the pipeline, from target to synthesis. Curated entries are read and described by hand; registry-listed entries come from public registries and are filtered for relevance, not reviewed. The planner turns a research question into a protocol: the steps, the checkpoint to pass before moving on, and the tools for each step.

The catalogue combines bio.tools (the ELIXIR registry, CC BY 4.0), public GitHub metadata and hand curation. When a plan names a target, live data comes from UniProt (the protein), RCSB PDB (experimental structures), AlphaFold DB (predicted structure) and ChEMBL (known bioactivity). Workflows are guides to run on your own infrastructure.

What leaves your browser

The planner sends your question to this site's server, which asks a hosted language model (Google Gemini, with Groq as a fallback) to choose the protocol and the steps for your case. If the model is unavailable, the planner falls back to its built-in rules. The target lookups go straight from your browser to UniProt, RCSB PDB, AlphaFold DB and ChEMBL; they receive the target name or identifiers derived from it, not your question. Do not enter anything confidential. Details in the privacy policy.
